FOR BOTH WORKSPACES

Record payments and credits in the right place

Keep cash received, balance adjustments, and accounting ownership distinct.

01

For a manual ledger

Open the invoice and use the available payment or credit action. Record a cash payment when money was actually received. Use a credit for an adjustment that reduces what is owed without representing money received.

Check the amount, date, and remaining balance before saving. Keep the history accurate if an entry needs correction.

02

For a QuickBooks ledger

Record payments, credits, and accounting corrections in QuickBooks. Sync the company in Clawrk to bring those changes in. Clawrk does not write payments or adjustments back to QuickBooks.

03

Read the result correctly

Both a payment and a credit can reduce an outstanding balance, but only a recorded cash payment contributes to cash received. A promise or a customer's message does not prove payment.

Clawrk does not hold customer funds. Customers pay through the business's existing payment arrangements or the payment link supplied for the invoice.
