FOR BOOKKEEPERS

Set up your practice and first client

Create your practice, add a company, and choose its invoice source.

01

Set up the practice

Choose Bookkeeping practice at signup, verify your email, and confirm your practice name and timezone. Confirm your authority to manage your clients' receivables and invoice communication. Your workspace starts empty.

02

Add the first client

  1. In Clients, choose Add client.
  2. Enter the business name, main contact, industry, and ledger currency.
  3. If the business uses QuickBooks, connect its empty Clawrk company before adding any manual invoices. Otherwise, import a CSV or add invoices individually.
03

Keep the businesses separate

A client company is the business whose books you manage. Its customers owe that business money. Always check the company when importing records, connecting QuickBooks, or preparing a reminder.

Standard practice teammates can access all client companies according to their role. Timesheets-only people can access only their assigned company time.

04

Pause or archive a client

Open the company in Clients to pause follow-up or manage its details. Active and paused companies use plan capacity. Archiving retains the records and frees a slot, while stopping sync and follow-up.

Restore a company from the Archived view when needed. Follow-up stays paused until you resume it. Archiving does not automatically lower your subscription price.

Put this guide to work.

Your workspace opens in a new tab.
